Mpore PEFA Children’s Home

RWANDA

History: Mpore PEFA Children’s Home started in August 1995 with 30 children from another orphanage.  Within four days of opening, Mpore began receiving more parentless children bringing the total number up to 68.  From that time forward, they have allowed God to lead them in caring for the orphans of Kigali, Rwanda.  Mpore PEFA

Children’s Home has placed approximately 100 children into families since opening.

Goals: Mpore PEFA Children’s Home cares for orphaned children of Rwanda.  Many children being served by the home are street children.  It is here where there are loving parental figures and the children receive shelter, clothing, nutrition, education, and most importantly an opportunity to know Jesus and receive His Love. The children being cared for in the home now range from young babies to age 24.  Children remain in the home until placed with relatives or are able to support themselves.

Program: Some of the children attend a private secondary school.  Others follow the programs established by the government.  A few of the children attend boarding schools.

The children are fed a variety of meats, vegetables, and fruits that are available in the area.

After finishing school, the children are provided with an opportunity for vocational training in mechanics, plumbing, tailoring, catering, and carpentry.

For enjoyment, the children sing in a choir.
